The Town of Huntersville is located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, located in the Charlotte region. Encompassing 31 square miles with an estimated 2019 population of over 65,000, Huntersville has been one of the state's fastest growing communities in the last three decades.

With access to several highways, Huntersville provides easy access to Charlotte and is midway between Carolina beaches and mountains.

But, Huntersville is also a destination in itself. Carolina Raptor Center, Latta Plantation, Rural Hill, the Carolina Renaissance Festival, Discovery Place Kids, Birkdale Village and the North County Regional Library are some of the Town's most popular destinations. Huntersville also has shoreline on both the Mt. Island Lake and Lake Norman, and access to numerous greenways and parks throughout the community.

The Town Board is comprised of a mayor and six commissioners. Town Manager Anthony Roberts oversees the Town departments and staff.
